SEO vs. Social for Affiliate Revenue: The Data Settled It

Not financial advice. Verify claims independently.

A month of tracking both channels — the revenue source wasn't the one I expected.

Four weeks of channel data on the Stock Picks affiliate program:

  • SEO/blog: lower volume, 3x higher EPC, compounding
  • Social (X/Shorts): higher volume, ~0.15 EPC, zero compounding
  • Newsletter: highest EPC (~$1.20), but smallest reach
  • The pattern: intent is everything — someone searching "micron earnings" is primed; someone scrolling is not

The implication: build the SEO base, use social for amplification, nurture the newsletter for the EPC. The affiliate income formula = traffic × intent × program fit. Stock Picks's program fits because the ask is free.

Put it into practice
